Install from the App Store. Each WPS iOS build officially supports about the latest two iOS versions — upgrade the OS if the app vanishes from your device’s compatibility list.
iPad
This is the SKU that makes sense if you already live in files on iPad. Pencil inking on slides/PDFs is the feature laptop users skip until they try it in a meeting.
Files app
Keep documents in Files / iCloud if you do not want another cloud. Enable WPS in the Files document provider list, then you can pick Dropbox/Drive through Files as well.
App Store
Gizmodo cites 4.8 stars from ~17.8k votes. Kingsoft’s iOS legal language limits each build to about the latest two iOS versions — if the app vanishes after an iOS jump, upgrade or keep an older iPad for it. iPad is the SKU that makes sense: Pencil, multi-window, desktop-class layout.
Files app
Enable WPS in Files so you are not trapped in a second silo. iCloud vs WPS Cloud: pick one brain. AirDrop a PDF to a Mac and open it in Preview if you need a second opinion on annotations.
Apple Pencil
Inking on slides and PDFs is the feature laptop users skip until a meeting. Palm rejection depends on iPadOS; if ink lags, close other apps, and do not run a 4K video in the same PPTX.
Hardware keyboard
Many Writer shortcuts still work on a Magic Keyboard. Test Save, Find, Bold before a lecture. If they do not, you are in a touch-first view — tap the document canvas first.
Stage Manager / multi-window
iPad with a keyboard is the desktop-class pitch. Test split view with Safari + Writer before a lecture. If WPS drops the keyboard shortcuts in a compact view, rotate to landscape and tap the canvas.
Backup
iCloud backup of the device is not the same as the DOCX living in Files. Export important files to Files/iCloud explicitly. App deletion can take the silo with it.
